Services

Four lines of work, one discipline

Most projects use two or three of them — which is usually the point of hiring one designer who can do all four instead of coordinating three suppliers who each do one.

01 — Research & product

UX research and product design

For digital products where the underlying system is complicated: transport and ICT platforms, internal portals, dashboards, booking and ticketing flows, service tools.

  • Stakeholder interviews and problem framing
  • User research, interviews and competitor review
  • Customer segments, personas and journey mapping
  • Information architecture and user flows
  • Wireframes and clickable Figma prototypes
  • Usability testing and iteration

Good fit if you have a product people find harder to use than it should be, or you are about to build something and want the flow settled before development starts.

02 — Interface

UI design and design systems

Interface design that survives contact with a real product team — documented, consistent and buildable.

  • Full interface design, responsive and mobile-first
  • Component libraries and Figma design systems
  • UI and brand guidelines for digital products
  • Accessibility review, contrast and state checks
  • Annotated developer handoff and build support

Good fit if your product has drifted into five versions of the same button, or your team is rebuilding and needs a system rather than a set of screens.

03 — Commerce

E-commerce and website design

Storefronts and marketing sites designed around the way people browse and decide, built on Shopify, Webflow or a CMS.

  • Catalogue and collection architecture
  • Product page and checkout flow design
  • Shopify and Webflow build, including Liquid
  • Content structure and on-page SEO fundamentals
  • Launch support

Good fit if you get traffic that does not convert, or you are launching a considered-purchase product where the browsing experience is most of the sale.

04 — Communication

Brand identity, decks and print

The communication layer around a product — often the part that decides whether the product gets funded or bought in the first place.

  • Logo and identity systems
  • Brand guidelines
  • Pitch decks, proposals and investor presentations
  • Annual reports and information design
  • Packaging, book and print design

Good fit if you have a strong proposition and a presentation that undersells it. I have used UX-led storytelling and prototypes to help win a multi-million-rand contract; the deck is a design problem like any other.

How to engage

Three ways to work together

Project

Fixed scope, named deliverables, typically four to ten weeks. Quoted after a short scoping call.

Retainer

An agreed number of days per month for teams shipping continuously without a full-time designer.

Contract

Full-time, part-time or contract, working remotely. Open to flexible hours for time-zone overlap.

Pricing depends on scope, and I would rather quote something accurate than publish a number that is wrong for your project. Send a description and I will come back with a range.
